With HERE Maps, you can:
- Search for addresses, places and services
- See places listed by categories
- Get directions on foot, by car or public transport
- Use step-by-step voice navigation when walking
- Collect places that matter to you, organise and sync them with here.com and take them with you on the go
- Share places on social networks or by email or text
You can use HERE Maps with a web browser that works with HTML5 technology by going to here.com. To use the service on your touch-screen phone or tablet, your device's browser must be able to handle HTML5 (for example, iOS 4.3+, Android 2.2 or 2.3, or Blackberry 6.0+).
Using services may require transmission of large amounts of data and involve sending of location information. We recommend using Wi-Fi or WLAN when available.
All the features may not always be available or accurate. Your first consideration while using the service in traffic has to be safety.
Why do I see two map tiles on the home screen of my Android device?
If you don't remove the Nokia Maps tile from your home screen, you'll still see it after you download HERE Maps. Simply delete the green Nokia Maps tile and use the blue HERE Map tile instead.
How do I report a problem on HERE Maps for mobile web?
- Tap the 'menu' icon next to the search bar.
- Choose Feedback and give us as much detail about the problem as possible.
Will HERE Maps for mobile web work on my phone or tablet?
To use the service on your smartphone or tablet, your device must be running iOS 4.3+, Android 2.2 or 2.3, or Blackberry 6.0+. We may have versions of HERE Maps that work on other platforms and versions in the future.
You can also use here.com on a Microsoft Windows PC or an Intel-based Apple Macintosh with Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome.
Does HERE Maps for mobile web have the same features as HERE for my PC?
HERE Maps is a service that brings HERE to all mobile devices, regardless of operating system (OS). You can use HERE Maps with the web browser in your touchscreen phone, tablet or personal computer, as long as your OS can handle HTML5 technology (for example, iOS 4.3+, Android 2.2 or 2.3, or Blackberry 6.0+).
HERE Maps has many but not all the same features as HERE for PC, and we’re always adding new ones.
Can HERE Maps for mobile web show me my location when I'm not connected to the internet?
Yes, if your device has a GPS sensor and you're located within the map area you currently have saved in your device, then your correct location will be shown.
HERE Maps for mobile web is available in which languages?
At the moment, HERE Maps for mobile web is available in English, Spanish (Latin America) and Portuguese (Brazil).
Where can I report incorrect info that I see on HERE Maps?
If the incorrect information is to do with street names or landmarks, you can use HERE Map Creator on here.com to report the problems. First go to the place on the map where you want to report the problem. Then right-click and choose Report map changes from the menu. Finally, choose the type of problem or change you'd like to make, giving as much detail as you can.
To report problems with a public place, select More details in the info box pointing to the place on the map. Then select Report this place and follow the instructions.
How do I add my business to HERE Maps?
You can add your business to here.com using HERE PrimePlaces. Just go to here.com/primeplaces.
I have seen incorrect, duplicate, missing or out-of-date information for a Place. What can I do?
Shops and restaurants sometimes move or, sadly, go out of business. If you come across incorrect or missing info, please tell us. You can also suggest additional details, such as contact info or the web address of a place, so others can find out more about it, too.
To report problems with a Place, select More details in the information box pointing to the Place on the map. Then select Report this place and follow the instructions. We double-check all proposed changes to Place information, so you may not see yours right away.
Some of my personal details appeared on here.com, but I didn't put them there. How do I remove them?
Go to the place listing on here.com where your info appears and click More details > Report this place. Be sure to mention in the report that your identity or privacy were being compromised.
How do I see my location on the map in HERE Maps for mobile web?
The 'my location' icon shows where you are if you need to get your bearings. A green halo appears to show you roughly where you are if there’s a problem finding your exact location. In densely populated areas, the accuracy is better, and the green halo is not as large.
Explore the map You can move the map around by dragging your finger across the screen. The map is always oriented north.
See where you are right now Tap the 'my location' icon.
Zoom in or out Tap '+' or '-'. For iOS, place two fingers on the map, and slide your fingers apart or together.
See the address of a location Tap and hold the location and the address will pop up.
How do I search for a location in HERE Maps for mobile web?
You can search for locations, such as street addresses, and places, such as restaurants.
- Type your search words in the search box at the top of the page.
- Choose an item from the list of proposed matches.
See the details of a place Tap the address pop-up that appears. You can use the details page to get to a place easily, see its contact info and save or share its location.
Tip: If there’s a phone number in the details page, you can tap it to call the place directly.
Search for businesses or public places near a location Go to an area on the map. Tap a place marker, or tap and hold the map. Then tap the pop-up.
This will display places nearby that you can sort according to the following categories:
- Eating out
- Going out
- Public transport
Tip: Zooming in might reveal more places of interest.
I couldn't find the place I was searching for on HERE Maps. What can I do?
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, try these:
- Include a ‘location word’. For example, if the place you are looking for is in New York, include “New York” in your search.
- Make sure you’ve spelled the name and address of the place correctly.
When I'm travelling, I don't want to use my internet connection because it's expensive. Can I save a map to my phone with HERE Maps for mobile web and still use it?
Yes, you can. However, you may not be able to use all of the features that are available when you're connected to the internet.
To save a map area, open the drop-down menu using the icon next to the search bar, and select Save a map area.
How do I plan a route in HERE Maps for mobile web?
Plan a route for your journey and see it on the map along with a full list of manoeuvres.
- Tap the menu icon, then Route.
- If you don't want the starting point to be your current location, choose another place. Type a location in the start box, then choose from the proposed matches.
- Type a location in the destination box, then choose from the proposed matches.
- If you're not planning to drive, you can also get walking or public transport directions (in some cities).
- To read route directions, first press Get directions, then press the list icon.
Tip: To avoid heavy traffic when you drive, tap the 'drive' icon and set the weekday and time you're planning to drive a route. HERE Maps finds the best route based on traffic estimates. To view traffic info when planning a route, tap the 'map view' icon then Live traffic view.
Use voice guidance when walking Get your route, then tap the 'walk' icon and the 'audio play' button. You may be asked to download a navigation voice.
How do I avoid traffic with HERE Maps for mobile web?
Avoid heavy traffic when driving by tapping the 'drive' icon and setting the day and time you plan on driving the route. HERE Maps calculates the best route for you based on traffic estimates. To see traffic info when planning your route, tap the 'map view' icon, then Live traffic view.
How do I use HERE Maps for mobile web offline?
To save on data costs, especially when travelling, you can save an area of the map on your phone and use it without an internet connection.
- Choose the area to save and tap the 'menu' icon, then Save a map area
- Zoom in or out to adjust the size of the area to be saved
View a saved area
Tap the 'menu' icon then View your saved map.
You can zoom in and out of the saved area, but you can only search and get routes with an internet connection. Searching and routing will be carried out on your downloaded map when you're connected to the internet, which means no new data is downloaded, and your data costs are lower.
How do I change the map view in HERE Maps for mobile web?
To change map views, tap the 'map view' icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select one of the following:
Map view For a “cleaner” look
Satellite view To get a feel for the lay of the land
Public transport view Too see selected public transport services, such as metro or commuter railway routes
Live traffic view The real-time traffic situation is shown as colour-coded lines
Community view See maps created and updated by users all over the world. Please note that we need to moderate and validate the community map, but it is always available for you to view nonetheless.
You can change from Kilometres to Miles easily. The blue highlight indicates which one is selected.
You can also turn on the traffic incident feature by tapping the 'map view' icon , selecting the Traffic tab, and sliding the Traffic incidents bar to On. You can then customise the view to show the following:
To view details of an incident, tap the marker.
I got the directions I wanted on HERE Maps for mobile web, but what if I prefer to see a list of manoeuvres rather than the route on the map?
Tap the 'list' icon to see a list of turn-by-turn manoeuvres. If you want to go back to the full route overview on the map, just tap the 'list' icon again. (Note that it changes appearance depending on which view you're looking at.)
What do the coloured dots on some place icons mean in HERE Maps?
The colored dot shown on some place icons indicates that the place was added to the map by the business owner. In the place details you'll find additional info that the business owner also provided.

Can I see street addresses with house numbers on HERE Maps?
Yes, in some cities. To see house numbers, zoom in to street level or tap and hold on a building on the map. Then tap the place bubble. You'll be able to see the full address and phone number.
How do I save places and organise them in HERE Maps for mobile web?
Before making a journey, you may find it handy to save info about, for example, hotels, tourist attractions or petrol stations. You can also create collections from your saved places to keep them organised.
Sign in with your Nokia or Facebook account. To sign in, tap the 'menu' icon, then the 'sign in' icon.
- Tap a location marker, or tap and hold a location on the map.
- Tap the pop-up.
- Tap the 'collect' icon.
- Save the place in an existing collection. Or tap Create new collection.
Your saved places are synced automatically with your Nokia account, so you’ll always have your collected places to hand.

View your collections
Tap 'menu' icon > Collections.
Add a saved place to a collection
Tap 'menu' icon > Collections. Tap a collection, then Manage > Add items.
Remove a saved place from a collection
Tap 'menu' icon > Collections. Tap a collection, tap Manage, then remove the tick from the box next to the place.
Delete a collection
To remove an entire collection, tap Manage then Delete collection.
How do I sync my saved places in HERE Maps for mobile web with here.com?
Have your saved places always backed up and to hand. Sign in with your Nokia or Facebook account to sync your saved places with here.com on your computer.
Select the 'menu' icon, then the 'sign in' icon and sign in to your Nokia account.
Your places are synced automatically.

How do I share my location with my friend in HERE Maps for mobile web?
Share your location on social media and let your friends know where you are and what you're doing. To do this, you’ll need an account with a social networking service, of course.
Tap a location marker, or tap and hold a location on the map. Then tap the pop-up, which opens a menu.
- Tap the 'share' icon, then choose a social networking service. Note: Not all social networking services work with HERE Maps in every country or region.
- If you need to, sign in to the service.
- You can write a message to accompany what you're sharing.
Send a place to a friend in an email or text message
Tap the 'share' icon then choose the method you wish to use - for example, Email, SMS or Social network.
Can I send my location to another HERE Maps user from HERE Maps for mobile web?
Yes. To send your location, tap the 'my location' icon. A pop-up appears. Tap the pop-up and choose Share, then the sharing method you want to use.
When the recipient opens the message you send them, they can click or tap the link included, and one of the following will happen:
- Maps opens and your shared location is shown (if their phone has Maps 3.06+ running Nokia Anna or later OS), or
- Their phone's web browser is opened and your shared location is shown (if they have a Nokia Lumia running Windows Phone 8).
How do I send a place to a friend in HERE Maps for mobile web?
Want to show your friends where the party is? Send them a link to the place in an email or text message.
- Select a location marker, or select and hold a place on the map.
- Select the pop-up.
- Tap the 'share' icon then choose the method you wish to use. E.g. Email, SMS or Social network.
