This place has been here for ages (although, I admit I have not, hee hee)
However, this was on my 'must-visit places' list, so I went. The Chicken Biryani is to die for! Sinful is not the word. The chicken pieces are succulent, the portions generous and the rice yummy.
Other things that are notable here are the shwarmas, bheja kalimiri masala with roti (its d-i-v-i-n-e) :)
Seating is ample and pretty crowded during lunch-time, dinner-time and the whole day on weekends.
Parking is a problem here cause its a popular eatery in a crowded inter-junction on a busy shopping street..I'm sure you've figured out yourself what it must be like, haha!

Been there once, will never go again
Come sunshine or come heavy rain!!!
I have never even heard of a spicy malai kofta or chicken masala in white gravy!!! Horrible is the word... A disaster of both preparations!!!! May be they put kofta and chicken pieces separately, but in the wrong gravies!!!

I love slow roasted chicken. In the US it's called rotisserrie-style and it takes hours at a low temperature with frequent turning to perfect. The grilled chicken at Empire was cooked by the front entrance on busy Church St. (not sure how sanitary that is but I do know you get lots of cars and pollution). Then sadly the chicken was very dry and overcooked. The non-veg thali was good and I would recommend that instead.
For under Rs. 300 for 2 dinners I'm not complaining about the overall experience and I'll probably be back.

I have always wondered privately why the govt. insists on closing restaurants at 11 and make us all play Cinderella. The Empire is probably one of the few restaurants in Bangalore that stays open late and gives people like me a proper chance to catch some food if I am working late.
The kababs here are very different in that they are deep fried! Great tasting, though at the cost of increasing your cholestrol level. Biryani is average but the Brain fry is good. Service is businesslike and brusque (sometimes) though fairly efficient. At this restaurant, you go to feed yourself; no more! no less!
The large crowds that throng the place speak volumes about the quality of the food and the appreciation of the general public.
Long live the Empire and may your tribe increase!!

Wel, the only time i've eer gone to this Empire is post mid night. The place is generally open till 4 am on Saturdays, 2 am on other days.
Stuff you should not miss here
1. Chicken Kebabs
2. Brain Fry
3. Dosa Kheema
4. Kerala Parotha with Butter Chicken
5. Grilled Chicken
Also has a bunch of nice combo meals!!
Crowd: Though it serves the mid night crowd, everyone is minding their own business stuffing their faces, so you never have to worry about problems.
The ambience is....well, decent. Nothing great, but good lighting and the wood panelling give it a nice comfort feel.
The staff, is always busy, might not be the best service always. On a good day, you'll have good food in no time, on bad days, I've had to wait up to 20 minutes to place an order
Best place for satisfying those late night "munches" you get.
