BMW joins HERE to take real-time maps to the next level

In 1994, BMW teamed up with our predecessor NAVTEQ to bring the first ever automotive grade map to the 7-Series. Today, as a partner of HERE, BMW still understands the importance of location technology in making transportation safer and easier for everyone.

Maps are evolving to give us a second-by-second view of the world. When it comes to smarter urban mobility and driverless cars, accuracy and precision will be paramount for the future, which is why BMW has turned to HERE for its industry-leading location technology. As an example, BMW is already using the HERE Open Location Platform for the development and launch of new digital driving services. The company is also one of several automakers providing real-time vehicle data to HERE, which is being used to develop a range of connected vehicle services.
