HERE and Intel are developing a highly scalable proof-of-concept architecture that will make autonomous driving as safe, predictable and accurate as possible. Today’s navigation technology can pinpoint a car’s location to within meters, but next-generation HD mapping allows localization to within centimeters. By leveraging this potential and supporting real-time map updates, the architecture enables vehicles to precisely position themselves on the road and achieve more reliable autonomous driving.
