HERE Directions 2024: find out who’s in location tech’s front row

At HERE's flagship event in Dreieich, Frankfurt am Main, we’ll explore the era of the software-defined vehicle, how to plan and optimize end-to-end supply chains and the acceleration of mobility and logistics.

From November 6th – 7th, area3 in Dreieich, Frankfurt am Main will host the highly anticipated HERE Directions 2024. During the two-day event, this year’s line-up of industry leaders will explore the latest trends and innovations in location technology and their impact on the future. Here's a sneak peek of just some of the sessions you can look forward to.

Day 1

Our moderator Bart Sweerman, HERE SVP Services & Support and Jason Jameson, HERE's Chief Customer Officer, will kick off the event with a warm welcome, setting the stage for Dominique Bonte, Vice-President at ABI Research, to dive deep into the key developments in automotive and logistics, and the increasingly critical role of location technology in driving progress.

Next, Gino Ferru, HERE's SVP and General Manager EMEA, will showcase real-life business cases that use location technology to enhance efficiency, safety, sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Later that afternoon, AWS will lead a panel discussion exploring the significant opportunities OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and logistics companies might miss by not adopting artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies promptly, such as increased efficiency and competitive edge. The session will also highlight how HERE, AWS and their partners are using these technologies to enhance operations in the automotive and logistics sectors.

For fleet planners, another afternoon session will focus on how to make fleet planning and execution easier with custom truck routing and navigation. For example, to boost efficiency, planners must consider truck restrictions and make delivery plans accordingly, while drivers need to follow routes based on legal and business guidelines. Misalignment can lead to fines, inefficiencies, or incidents like trucks hitting bridges.

Day 2

Our moderator, Bart Sweerman, will return to the main stage to greet the audience before the second day's sessions get underway.

The first session will look at how the digitalization of cars makes it easier to implement alternative ownership models, which in turn could accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and self-driving cars.

Switching gears, we’ll look at the latest sustainability trends in electric fleets as well as the adoption of alternative fuels and route-enhancing telematics to reduce carbon footprints.

Then, HERE partner Kardinal and logistics company Omniva will tackle the latest challenge in route optimization: last-meter precision. Pulling this off is no easy feat — a multimodal routing algorithm layered over a precise map customizable with verified geocodes is key.
